Q: How are Honors determined?

A: Honors is determined on the basis of grade point average (GPA) or a combination of GPA and thesis grade. See the Honors Calculation Chart here.

Q: What happens if I have extra courses? Do these get factored in?

All courses you take that count toward concentration credit will be used to calculate your Honors.

Q: How does the thesis grade affect honors? If I get a low or unacceptable thesis grade, will this disqualify me from Honors?

A thesis grade cannot hurt a student. Either the level of Honors (or non-honors) will remain the same, or it will increase the degree of Honors.

Q: How many honors candidates are there each year?

About one third of each graduating class receives a degree with Honors.
